Michelle McCue is one of the new breed of marketing professionals helping clients in a broad range of industries “bridge the digital divide” by developing marketing programs that span traditional and online communications. With an extensive background in digital marketing, she believes that by tapping into the speed, reach and targeted nature of new media, communications professionals can create more effective, less costly client programs.

After making the career shift from journalism to marketing communications, Michelle spent several years working as a public relations and online marketing consultant. Through her partnerships and experiences working with established marketing agencies, she realized the evolution of digital communications was outpacing the knowledge and experience of most large firms.

Believing that an agency should not only meet clients’ new media needs, but also help them incorporate the latest technologies into existing communications plans, Michelle launched the Los Angeles-based public relations firm McCue Marketing Communications (MMC). She brings tried-and-true and cutting-edge together under the MMC umbrella, designing public relations strategies that encompass both traditional and digital communications. By partnering with other industry pioneers to stay abreast of the latest tools and best practices, she offers clients the capabilities and credibility of a large shop, with the flexibility and innovation of a boutique firm.

Michelle’s experience working with clients such as Tourism Western Australia, Kor Hotel Group, Vine Connections Imports, Farmer’s Daughter Hotel Group, and Russian River Wine Road make travel, wine, hospitality, and related industries a natural focus for MMC. However, she believes the principals of strategic marketing can be applied to any industry, and looks forward to expanding the company’s practice areas in 2010. She also offers pro bono marketing consulting to non-profits such as the West San Fernando Valley Boys and Girls Club and Corazon, an organization dedicated to building homes for struggling Mexican families who live near the US border.

Michelle received her Master of Arts degree in Mass Communications from California State University, Fullerton, where her research focused on strategic public relations and digital communications. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing from University of California, Riverside.
